Wrap Wedding Cake Slices

News, March 2010

What a difference that can make a little more than four months. In recent months I have been single gigs "with no" end, and although they have done wonders for my wallet (and ultimately my retirement plan), they have not always done wonders for my back. For these gigs, along with the 17-Clock Fair in St. George, I must bring about eleven pounds lighter in a backpack, including my 6-EPM mixer, three XLR cable, a mic stand and my SM-58 microphones and for some of these gigs require the commute fifteen minute walk, and maybe wait some time if it was not someone are capable of opening the venue. Finally, the load on my back got to the point where I had to buy a better Gigzeugbehälter, in the form of a small roller suitcase.

Just when I've played around in the course of several weeks to have my bass, I found that I have a tendency to play more often "Solo" lines in the higher tessitura than actual bass lines per se. Moreover, we have an old B & S Grange acoustic guitar, perhaps older than me and although I tried for maybe thirty-five years with her amateurish play the guitar, the guitar has become so unbundrein, I would probably pay more in order to make composite in, than to buy a new guitar. So I've taken the step in December and bought an Epiphone G-310 from eBay.

And the guitar is not an ordinary G-310. It has graphics in a "Emily Strange" motif. I chose the figure of interest from indirect influence of Kira, who wore a longsleeve Emily for their gig at the Festival in the summer of 2005 Schupfart , and in fact is the guitar one of the few examples of the Emily-goods which are suitable for boys and girls. Epiphone also wonders that guys are passionate about the guitar Emily - they love the graphics.

When my Emily arrived in January, I have not been able to feel the difference between it and the B & S Grange guitar. Since then I play with Emily every day. All that I can play so far is simple scale lines, some open chords and small intervals and the like, and I have to work to make my neck consistent. I understand the CAGED system on the intellectual rail, but I have not yet studied in depth.

is just before Christmas Hotter than Ice went to a Christmas break, which has become renewed, as our new bass player has decided to go on trips. We should return to the studio on 7 March go, but I have failed, they join.

is The reason for my father. As I have mentioned here in October, he has health problems that require that one is constantly with him, and my mother is not its age. During the last year or so she was on the waiting list for three age homes, and they are on 3 In March, calls to tell her that a bed was available at a one of them. In theory we could make it as early as last Friday that there have to be related, but my mom felt that everything has gescheht too fast - she wanted enough time to talk through it with the rest of our family, and give the father time idea to have come true. As a sort of farewell, my whole family would be on 7 March for dinner together, and I felt that this was too important just to miss a rehearsal.

On 21 March, I also have a special gig at St. Augustine, where I background material for a ham dinner. This is a rare opportunity for you, the great music from the other side of the Atlantic to be translated, and to see me play the kind of music I play not often. I hope to see you all there.
