News, June 2007

Just when I thought that I would not busier, so I will. For the exhibition at 16.30 clock in St. Augustine, I am now working with a choir conductor of German descent, Uwe Liefländer, who some years before the Sacred Music Society co-founded in Toronto and now here in Ottawa a new branch created by it (he now lives in Oshawa, but moved to Ottawa at the end of July). Together with the Sinfonia Sacra Orchestra, the SMS consists of several choirs, including the World Youth Choir of five hundred voices that sang at the World Youth Day celebrations in Toronto 2002nd The SMS concept also includes the "Sparrows", a music school, a children's choir and music promotion program is, courses in which students music theory and classical vocal techniques, and gain the performance experience by singing at the weekly fair. The idea is that they will eventually pass into the adult choir. The Ottawa branch of the Sparrows, which is now largely students from the St. Augustine and Maryvale Academy students and is, at the Church of St. Augustine introduced at 27.4 and has started on 12.5, at Mass at 16.30 clock sing. They will bring their season at 30.6 in the bag for the summer, and will begin again in September.

page 4.5 I work with Mr. Liefländer adult choir in the city. Because in so many other music projects am involved, is the time where I can learn new material for more than face value me. To accelerate the learning process I give usually a choral scores in the music software "Musicator" note for note. This setting is useful for situations in which Mr. Liefländer wants me to play in a different key. At first I thought that was the combined repertoire between the choir and the Sparrows are big enough for me to create in this context, an excessive workload. But it turns out that there is some overlap between the two choirs repertoire. Until now it is at high level of church music by Bach, Schubert, and Wolfgang and Leopold Mozart, and Mr. Lief countries, the idea of us performing Handel's Messiah in August. (Thank God that I know where I can find MIDI files from the !)

And now going to talk about the bands. After a gig on 04/20 at Rainbow Bistro, which was less than perfect, Soul Review Board has the 1.6 when Château Montebello snapped back with a much stronger presence. The band begins a series at the Metropolitan Patiogigs to the 8.6. However, is Hotter than Ice continued their preparations for a house party gig that is happening at 16.6, and the band is working once again with the bass player, has played with us for our Good Companions gig in November 2006.

Early in July I will go on vacation in Toronto, originally to visit Polaris, a meeting of the earlier named Toronto Trek. This is a pity that I could not go through a few weeks earlier - I would give anything for the CD-Shop Sam the Record Man to visit at the Yonge and Dundasstraßen one last time before giving up at the end of June ...
